How to change the language in Revit without any additional installation

Updated: Oct 29, 2023

In this post, I would like to share a simple, but the useful tip on how to use many languages in Revit without any further installation. By and large, it is often helpful for some people who make a tutorial in many languages as they need to take some screenshots for information. Moreover, it could be beneficial if you need to translate English into your own language.

OK, let's talk about how to do it. It is simple. Use many shortcuts for different languages. There are officially 14 languages supported for the full version of Revit, whereas only 8 are supported for Revit LT. Therefore, if you need 3 languages other than English, you just need to create 3 shortcuts with related codes in them. SIMPLE !!!

Then, let's talk about how to create those shortcuts. You will need a fresh shortcut for whatever version of Revit that you want to change If you don't have the shortcut on your desktop. Otherwise, you can copy and paste the existing shortcut to start with. However, I will get through from scratch.

Create a Shortcut

Getting multiple Languages

If you want to have more languages, then just copy the shortcut and paste it, then change the codes as shown below;

Language code in Revit

There is a space in front of ‘/language’

It is dead simple, isn't it? I hope this post is helpful and makes you like Revit more. Happy Revit !!
